WALT was originally established to provide services for people living on the edge of the care system who are socially isolated, lonely, and vulnerable and our vision and mission are simple.

To focus on reducing feelings of loneliness and helping people to make healthier life choices, live longer and happier lives and transition from Social Isolation to Socialisation

Meet The Team!

Paul Brivio

Paul Brivio - Trustee/Chair

Paul has lived in Medway for 40 years and recently retired after working in local government, the VCS (Voluntary and Community Sector) (Voluntary and Community Sector) (Voluntary and Community Sector), for a national sports body and as a self-employed consultant. Paul is a family person with a young grandchild and a 94-year-old mother with vascular dementia to help care for, so he can see things from both ends of the spectrum.

Favourite Motto - "Do Not Curse the Darkness, Light a Candle!"

David Routledge

David Routledge – Trustee

David retired in 2016 after working in finance for over 40 years. He now has two part-time jobs and a bucket list of travel plans.

David is married with 3 grown-up children and 3 young grandchildren.

Ann West

Ann West – Trustee

Ann is a retired Deputy Headteacher, a retired Chair of North Kent Magistrates Bench, a Deputy Lieutenant of Kent.

Born in Medway, has 4 adult children, 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, is a Trustee, Patron, Life President, and Ambassador to several organisations in Kent and Medway.

Jean Judge

Jean Judge – Trustee

Jean has lived in the Walderslade area of Chatham for over fifty years and retired from working life in 2006.

Jean has worked within admin roles for both private businesses and National Children's Charities. She has a son and two grandchildren still deciding what career path they wish to follow!

Esther Cook

Esther Cook – Trustee

Esther is one of the Ward Councillors for Wayfield and Weeds Wood. Alongside this she works in senior leadership within the education sector.

She is married with two teenage daughters and has always lived in the Medway Towns.

She is inspired by the phrase  - "Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can."

Geoff Walters

Geoff Walters – Trustee

Geoff qualified as a teacher focusing on PE, children with disabilities and Duke of Edinburgh's Award. He has a diploma in Management Skills promoting staff training in Health and Safety, Planning and Preparation, with annual personnel development review. He completed his career in Youth Services at Medway Council, he is a past President Medway Rotary and is currently responsible for youth activities.

Becca Bentham

Becca Bentham - Office Administrator

Becca, the youngest member of the team, has been working for WALT for over 2 years.

She cared for her father, who suffered with dementia and understands the many struggles that people go through.

Jane Williams

Jane Williams - Operations Manager

Jane is one half of the Operations Manager role and is new to the charity sector.

Before joining WALT, she worked as both an employee and a consultant in IT/Finance in London, for far too long. Born in Medway, she hopes to use her life and work experiences to make a difference locally.

Favourite Motto - "Your hand is an extension of your heart - give it freely".


Becca Bentham

Becca Bentham - Office Administrator

Becca, the youngest member of the team, has been working for WALT for over 2 years.

She cared for her father, who suffered with dementia and understands the many struggles that people go through.

Julie Porter

Julie Porter - Operations Manager

Julie is the other half of the Operations Manager role, having only recently joined WALT. She worked in Social Care for 14 years working with Children and Families. She has also recruited and run a team of volunteers to work with people living with Dementia. Julie is no stranger to volunteering herself, spending the last 19 years working with a Registered Charity Drama group for young people.
